Doctor of Acupuncture (RI)
I
grew up in my mom's clinic. She was a family physician
in Russia. My older sister is a surgeon specializing in
breast surgery.
Medicine has been a part of my life for as long as I
can remember.
I developed an interest in medicine in college and was
taking my pre-meds then.
I learned medicine in college, but, additionally, learned
from my mother and sister that though many individuals
benefit from Western medical intervention, many do not
and that there are often dreadful side-effects which occur
as a result of reactions to medications. I also learned
from my mom and sister that most chronic diseases are
not curable.
One day, I met a college friend who transferred from
Western medical school to a college of Traditional Chinese
medicine. He was so excited with the curriculum that he
implored me to 'check it out'; and I did.
I too transferred to Pacific College of Oriental Medicine
where I endeavored to study acupuncture and herbal medicine;
I was so excited with my choice. I learned that by treating
the 'root' causes of pathology instead of the pathology
itself, that even chronic conditions could be successfully
treated and through clinical experience, I have found
this to be true! The more I studied this 'natural medicine'
the more I loved it.
After my two beautiful children were born, my life completely
changed. Nothing seemed to be more important and more
precious to me than my little ones.
I now had a mission! I strongly felt that by helping
couples to experience the same joy of creating a family
that I had, my life's work would be incredibly fulfilling.
I joined The Berkley Center for Reproductive Wellness
and Women's Health so that I could focus my studies and
clinical work on pathologies which affect fertility and
participate in curing them.
My good fortune stems from the fact that I have my own
wonderful family and that I continue to have excellent
success in helping others to start theirs!
